THE WORST NINE WORDS IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

The worst nine words in the English language:
'Would you like to hear one of my poems?'
Much worse than Hell, they make you seek refuge
They can clear rooms in tens, fours, and tandems
But, then, who can say? The unlikely source
Might just pen something deep, if not divine
Not written in code, like something from Morse
But words rhyming with a meaning so fine
So why not grab a chair, sit down and hear
What means so much to this poetaster
Let him state his case (perhaps shed a tear)
Let him prove himself to be Wordmaster
Who says the Angels, peering from Heaven
Are not pulling up chairs for a listen.
