WHEN I SAY 'YOU'
When I say 'you'. .
and you're standing there, it's as if the Sun melts before my eyes.
When I say 'you'. .
and my knees buckle, it's all I can do to keep from falling.
When I say 'you'. .
and you're listening to me, I know I have only a brief moment to state my case.
When I say 'you'. .
I wonder if I'm worthy to be standing there before you saying 'you', if there's really a me at all.
When I say 'you'. .
and your eyes glint, and your lips curl, I'd climb a stair to kiss you.
When I say 'you'. .
and you're not there, I wonder if you ever will be and what I'll do if you are. Run?
When I say 'you'. .
I feel held by some invisible Force that keeps me there.
