JUST LIKE A CAT
You came to me
Just like a cat
Tumbling in
From the Wild.

You seemed so free
As free as that
Rumbling in
Mind of child.

I gave you food
I kissed your fur
In my bed
You laid down.
|
When in the mood
You gave a purr
Then you fled
Back to town.
|
When I returned
To our new home
You were there
On the ledge.
|
Your head I turned
You read my poem
You chose care
Over hedge.
