'Why Am I Still Writing?'

All the good poems have been written
All the great songs have been sung
All the fine plays have been acted
All the church bells have been rung.

Why am I still writing?
. If not to make a name
Why am I still hacking?
. If not to win the game
Why am I still trying?
. With no real shot at fame.

The effort is game enough
. To quit would be a shame.
